Soror D. Parthenia Cogdell, the Rancocas Valley Alumnae Chapter’s 6th Past President, was recognized for making history as the only black person elected to serve as President of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) in the organization’s 100-years history.

At the CEC 100th Anniversary Celebration, National Convention, Atlanta, GA during the Legacy Luncheon, the Council for Exceptional Children recognized Soror Cogdell. She has been a trailblazer in this organization and recognized for many firsts during her career.

The CEC celebrated 100 years as an organization during its November 2021 National Convention held in Atlanta Georgia. It is the largest international professional organization dedicated to improving the success of children and youth with disabilities and/or gifts and talents.
